Vendor Directory Selection Criteria
The Employer Child Care Navigator is committed to curating a directory of child care providers that offer solutions tailored to the needs of employers and their employees. Vendors included in this directory are not endorsed by EPIC or the Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
To be included in our directory, vendors must meet the following criteria:
1. Vendors must be able to support one or more of the following child care solutions:
On-site or Near-site Care: 1) vendor operates a child care center at or near the work site, which was built in partnership with employer(s) with a priority to serve their employees. Providers could include: child care centers, family child care home providers, micro-providers, and religiously affiliated child care providers, among others. 2) vendor supports an employer with the evaluation and development of an on-site or near-site child care strategy.
Child Care Partnership: 1) vendor operates a child care center and partners directly with employer(s) to secure child care spaces for employees at the center. This could also include a partnership where the employer supports tuition discounts or customized tuition schedules directly with the center for their employees. Providers could include: child care centers, family child care home providers, micro-providers, and religiously affiliated child care providers, among others. 2) vendor supports an employer with the evaluation and development of a child care partnership strategy and/or brokers a partnership between child care centers and employers to secure child care spaces for employees at the center.
Child Care Concierge: vendor partners with employers to understand specific needs of employees and provides services such as help locating available child care providers or advice on choosing the right care setting. This can also include working with local providers to secure individual placement, coordinate tours, etc. The partnership is with the employer, but the services are geared towards employees to identify and secure care solutions individualized to them.
Marketplace Subscription: vendor partners with employers to offer a subscription service for employees. Employees use the service on their own without the assistance of a concierge to find a range of options from full-time care to back up care, elder care, pet care, and more. The partnership is with the employer, but the services are geared towards employees to identify care solutions individualized to them.
Financial Solutions: vendor partners with employers to provide funding or tools for staff to reduce costs or to help pay for care, such as discounts and stipends. This includes financial stipends from the employer to support care solutions of the employee’s choice as well as discounts and stipends from other sources.
Add-on Benefits: vendor partners with employers to deliver tools, systems, or support, guidance and education for both employees and employers on remote back up care, family-friendly work policies, parental leave, flexible work hours, parent employee resource groups, and more.
Work with Your Community. vendor actively manages partnerships (leading communications, follow-ups, and action) between community stakeholders and employers to create a more robust early childhood ecosystem.
2. Vendors will need to indicate the state(s) in which they currently operate or would be willing to expand to within one year. They need to be willing to accept inquiries from employers from all across the indicated state(s).
3. For each child care service that has been selected, vendors will be asked to provide 1-3 exemplar employer clients with a brief description of the work and partnership approach (this information is for internal vetting only. We will not share this information publicly or conduct any outreach to these clients without express permission). If a vendor operates a child care center, they must also provide evidence of successfully running at least 3 child care centers.
We understand that vendors may be in early stages of growth and/or may have general questions about the ability to meet these criteria. Please reach out to [email protected] so we can learn more about your organization.
